With a lifetime risk of one in 22 men and one in 24 women, it is anticipated that more than 101,000 cases of colon cancer and more than 44,000 cases of rectal cancer will be diagnosed in 2019.

Local Certified Diabetes Educator and Registered Dietitian, Kelly Cardamone, confirms that both diabetes and prediabetes are major problems in the U.S. and across the globe. A study published in the Journal of the Amerian Medical Association revealed that nearly 50 percent of adults living in the U.S. have diabetes or prediabetes (a condition marked by higher than normal blood glucose levels that are not yet high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes).
