J’Leise Sosa, MD, MPH, who recently treated patients on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, will now be caring for obstetrics and gynecology patients in Buffalo and East Aurora as part of General Physician, PC, Women’s Health.
Winner of the prestigious Vincent J. Capraro Award for Clinical and Academic Excellence at the University of Buffalo medical school, Dr. Sosa traveled to the Dominican Republic as a volunteer with Medical Outreach and Community Assistance of Western New York to offer essential gynecologic surgical services to underserved communities.
Dr. Sosa specializes in minimally invasive surgery. “Women are very busy people. From careers to caregiving, we need health solutions that allow us to get back on our feet quickly. That's why I strive to provide the least invasive techniques to address a woman's problem,” Dr. Sosa says. “When surgery is deemed necessary, I work with women to develop a treatment plan that is best suited to their needs. The minimally invasive approach results in quicker recovery, fewer post-operative complications, and ultimately, happier patients. Who doesn't want that? "

Dr. Sosa, who also won the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine Award for excellence in Obstetrics and the Gold Humanism Honor Society Medical Student Award, will be seeing pregnant patients and non-pregnant patients at the Women’s Health offices in both Buffalo, at 520 Delaware Avenue, and East Aurora, at 268 Main Street. Dr. Sosa will be accepting new patients and making appointments effective immediately.
