Virginia Bond, MD

Dr. Bond is from a small mill town in North Carolina. She attended Davidson College for her bachelors and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her medical degree. She completed her OBGYN residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. After this, she and her husband made plans to settle where his family lives in WNY.

Dr. Bond enjoys caring for patients through adolescence, pregnancy, menopause, and beyond. She has particular interests in high-risk obstetrics, complex contraceptive care, care of LGBTQ patients, menopause, and gyn surgeries. She is thrilled to work with this wonderful, tight knit, and talented group of women in Queen City OBGYN to provide exceptional care. If Dr. Bond can’t be there for your delivery, she knows you are in the best of hands with her partners.

She enjoys living and working in the more rural part of WNY. She is committed to the community and working with local healthcare resources to provide the best of care in a more rural setting. She lives with her husband, two daughters, beautiful gardens, and too many cats in the Southtowns.

Jennie Dembski, MD

Dr. Dembski is a native of Buffalo. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Canisius College. She attended SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where she participated in the Military Health Professions Scholarship Program. After receiving her doctorate, she was commissioned as a Captain in the US Army. She completed her training with the Uniformed Services Residency in OB/GYN, stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Upon completion of her residency program, she proudly served the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum in Watertown, NY for 4 years. During that time, she was promoted to Major and served as Chief of the OB/GYN Department. She was honorably discharged from the Army in 2013.

She returned home at that time and lives in Orchard Park with her husband and four children, including a set of twins. Dr. Dembski enjoys exercise and spending time with her extended family after living away for so many years.

Kaitlyn Brekovsky, MD

Born and raised in Buffalo, Kaitlyn Brekovsky, MD moved to Cleveland to study biology at John Carroll University. She returned to attend medical school at Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo and began practicing medicine in her beloved hometown.

Dr. Brekovsky also completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Jacobs School, where she was the recipient of an award from the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons for outstanding achievement in minimally invasive surgery. She’s always taken a special interest in women’s health and selected an OBGYN specialty because of the unique way OBGYN care allows her to treat and follow her patients through many different stages of life. Dr. Brekovsky is passionate about all aspects of OBGYN care, but has a special interest in obstetrics, as well as gynecologic and minimally invasive surgeries.

Outside of work, Dr. Brekovsky enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on Buffalo sports teams, and playing tennis. She currently lives in North Buffalo with her husband.

Mary Kate Frauenheim, MD

Mary Kate Frauenheim was born and raised in Buffalo. She went to Columbia University for her undergraduate degree where she majored in neuroscience. She then returned home and attended the University at Buffalo for medical school where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and then continued on to complete her residency training here as well. She is the recipient of the David H Nichols award for excellence in gynecologic surgery.

Throughout her training she has grown to love all aspects of women’s health and obstetrics, specifically the ability to be able to follow her patients lifelong. She also has a passion for gynecologic and minimally invasive surgery.

She lives in Kenmore with her husband and two dogs. In her spare time, she likes to bake, exercise, and go boating on the lake.

Taylor Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson grew up in Western New York. She attended Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, OH where she studied Neuroscience and Chemistry and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then attended medical school at University at Buffalo and completed residency training here in Buffalo as well. During residency training, she spent her time investing heavily in GYN surgery and was the recipient of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology award. She also has a passion for obstetrics, spending time getting to know patients throughout their pregnancy. She currently lives with her husband and four children in the city of Buffalo. Outside of medicine, Dr. Johnson enjoys teaching fitness classes, hiking, exploring new Buffalo restaurants, and chasing after her kids.

Brittanny Keeler, DO, NCMP

Dr. Keeler is a proud native of Utica, NY.  She attended Siena College in Loudonville, NY and majored in biology. She then received her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her experience in medical school led her to her passion of caring for and aiding in the health and wellness of women. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the University at Buffalo, during which she was the recipient of the Shashikant Lele Excellence in Gynecologic Oncology award and the David H. Nichols award for overall excellence in gynecologic surgery.

She enjoys caring for women during the full spectrum of their lives. Her interests include pregnancy as well as those that are high risk and postpartum planning. She is also interested in infertility and menopause. Dr. Keeler is a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner.

Dr. Keeler lives in Buffalo with her husband and son. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, dog named Marty, and two black kitties named Salem and Savannah. She loves spinning and cooking.

Alexis Platek, MD

Originally from Hamburg, Dr. Platek attended medical school at Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, and then went on to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency at University of Rochester Medical Center.

She’s a comprehensive women’s health provider who specializes in obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies, as well as robot-assisted and laparoscopic gynecologic surgeries. Dr. Platek was drawn to OBGYN as a specialty because of the unique opportunity it gives providers to care for patients through all phases of their lives.

Dr. Platek is a graduate of a prestigious master’s-level program that is a partnership between the University at Buffalo and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she assisted on research projects focused on risk factors and treatment outcomes for head, neck, and ovarian cancer patients. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.

When she’s not working, you can find Dr. Platek spending time with her husband and daughter; going on family hikes with their dog, Lilly; and visiting loved ones in Western New York and Southern Canada. She’s also an avid knitter.

Dakota R. Coles, FNP-BC

Dakota Coles, FNP-BC earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degrees from D'Youville College. Her passion for women’s health was ignited during her junior year of high school and continues to be fueled through her clinical and work experiences.

Since becoming a Registered Nurse in 2013, Dakota has honed her skills across various healthcare settings, including the Emergency Department trauma unit at ECMC and the oncology department at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. These diverse experiences have equipped her with a broad skill set and deep understanding of patient care.

Dakota has a particular clinical interest in obstetrics, postpartum care, contraception, and preventative medicine. She is committed to making women feel comfortable and providing high-quality care through strong patient-provider relationships. Dakota finds great fulfillment in supporting women through life's transitions, offering personalized and empathetic care.

Outside of her professional life, Dakota is very family-oriented. She enjoys spending her free time with her loved ones, especially during their weekly family dinners. She also enjoys gardening and exploring good food.

Monica Denz, PA-C, MPAS

Monica was born and raised in Buffalo, NY.

She received both her Bachelors and Masters of Physician Assistant Studies Degrees from Daemen University, earning both the ‘Humanitarian of the Year Award’ and ‘Research Award’ for her graduating class.

Monica’s interest in Women’s Health began while volunteering at a local refugee clinic. After spending time at the local clinic and abroad in Thailand, South Africa, and Dominican Republic, she became passionate about preventative medicine, education, access to contraception, and appropriate medical treatment for all women at every stage of their lives.

Monica enjoys educating and caring for patients from their first visit to the GYN through menopause and everything in between, including pregnancy.

Monica lives in East Aurora with her husband, son, and dog. She enjoys traveling, trying new vegetarian restaurants, exercising, and reading.

Laura Graci, PA-C

Laura Graci is a native of Western New York. After earning her bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology from SUNY Brockport, she completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree as a Physician Assistant at D’Youville College. She worked in primary care for four years, where she developed a love for women’s health. She strives to provide comprehensive, personalized care to women of all ages.

Laura is a member of the WNY Physician Assistant Association. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities, exercising and spending time with her friends and family.

Renee Hansen, CNM

Renee Hansen, CNM began her career in healthcare as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at a long-term health care facility. While working there she pursued a Medical Office Assistant degree. Renee was then employed, for many years, in a pediatrician’s office. The model of the registered nurses in this office prompted her interest in pursuing an advanced healthcare degree. In 1995, Renee completed her Registered Nursing degree. With these degrees and experience, she was employed as the office manager of a newly opened OB/GYN practice within a multi-specialty group. Given this experience she soon determined that women’s healthcare was her niche. Not yet done learning, Renee sought and completed a Master of Science in Nursing at Philadelphia University, to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. Upon graduation in 2013, she worked in the Olean area as a full scope midwife. Renee then joined Catholic Health serving the rural Springville, NY area.

She is excited to be a part of Queen City OBGYN and to work alongside Dr. Virgina Bond. Renee’s goal is to be the most caring and compassionate midwife for her patients as she is very passionate at providing the most comprehensive care to women across their lifespan.

Maria Sweet, RPA-C

Meet Mia! Maria (Mia) Sweet is a registered physician assistant (PA) who specializes in providing comprehensive outpatient OBGYN care to patients at our office in Depew.

Mia's education and background:

As a Western New York native herself, Mia says she feels honored to take care of other women in Buffalo, and focuses on developing long-term relationships with all her patients. As she enjoys the opportunity to care for patients through multiple life stages, including the very first OBGYN visit, care through pregnancy, and support through menopause and beyond, Mia places a high importance on making her patients feel comfortable at each visit.

Mia received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physician assistant studies from Daemen University, where she received a Clinical Excellence Award during her rotations. She is currently a member of several professional organizations for certified PAs and OBGYN providers, including the Association of Physician Assistants in Obstetrics and Gynecology (APAOG); the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA); and the WNY Physician Assistant Association.

Why OBGYN care?

Combining her clinical experiences with her own pregnancy and postpartum journey, Mia feels a strong affinity for her patients’ experiences and the care she provides. Mia provides comprehensive outpatient OBGYN care and specializes in managing and treating patients for abnormal period symptoms, contraception care, endometriosis, routine GYN and obstetrical care, and postpartum care.
