Hanna Algattas, MD, FCNS

Hanna Algattas, MD, FCNS is an accomplished neurosurgeon, specializing in open and endoscopic skull base surgeries, as well as cranial and spinal oncology, spinal deformities and disorders, and sports medicine. He is currently also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo.
A native of Syracuse, Dr. Algattas completed his undergraduate studies at Colgate University and attended medical school at the University of Rochester. He went on to complete a Neurological Surgery Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, in addition to enfolded fellowships in Sports Medicine and Endoscopic and Open Skull Base Surgery at UPMC.
Dr. Algattas’ research has been awarded by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS); He was also the very first recipient of the Aequanimitas Award from the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurological Surgery in 2021. The Aequanimitas Award was created to recognize a department resident that exhibits humility, compassion, and excellent care of patients, even in the face of difficult circumstances.
