Alexis Platek, MD

Alexis Platek, MD attended medical school at Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, then went on to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency at University of Rochester Medical Center.

Dr. Platek is a comprehensive women’s health provider who specializes in obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies, as well as supporting her GYN patients through family planning and complex gynecologic surgeries (including robot-assisted and laparoscopic procedures). She was originally drawn to OBGYN as a specialty because of the unique opportunity it gives providers to care for all patients through all phases of their lives and is especially passionate about welcoming the LGTBTQ+ community to her practice.

Prior to her medical training, Dr. Platek has an impressive academic background – she completed a prestigious master’s-level program that is a partnership between the University at Buffalo and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she assisted in research projects focused on risk factors and treatment outcomes for head, neck, and ovarian cancers. Dr. Platek also has a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.
